Spiced roast walnuts

A 15-minute snack with pepper, salt and Tasmanian walnuts.

Halves roasted with cracked pepper and rock salt. Good with a beer, better on a salad. Keeps two weeks if they last that long.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 170 C fan-forced.

  2. Toss the walnuts in olive oil, cracked pepper, salt and paprika in a bowl.

  3. Spread on a lined tray in a single layer.

  4. Roast 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until they smell toasted but are not dark.

  5. Cool on the tray before serving. The salt sticks as the oil sets.
